XML-Workflows

• Creation of new DTD/Schemas: when there is no available structure, we can develop a new DTD or Schema.
• Maintenance and development of existing DTD/Schemas: this is necessary when the existing structure does not cover the data model.
• Conversion of typografic data into XML: data comes often from different sources. We do first a standardization and after that, we convert to XML with our own software products

ePublishing
Even when ePub and eBook are not in a very large usage at the moment, we have solutions for this formats.
To create ePubs we use the same Workflow as for XML conversions: first we do data standardization, then we make the conversion with our own tools.
When a book is too complex (it has tables, formulas or a lot of pictures), we suggest eBook as a better solution. So you may keep the graphic details better. Ebook will be processed from the print product (PDF).

Typesetting
The typesetting department offers all necessary services for a complex typesetting process:

• Typesetting with the apropriate Application (cstomer can also decide which tyesetting program is to be used)
• Template development and Layout adjustment
• Text recognition (OCR): we recognize any kind of documents (from Microfilm, Typewriter). A very interesting topic is the recognition of gothic text.
• Picture processing: Scans (even in large amounts), vectorization or new drawing of technical pictures, photo processing
• Preparation of ready to print PDFs
• Text reading and correction (German language)
